Our focus is on making this easier to access, in the least restrictive setting, local to the patient and better joined‑up to other services and support. This is designed around what people have told us that they need to support good outcomes.

We want our inpatient and day settings to continue to feel safe, welcoming and therapeutic, enabling supportive recovery.

We are aiming to improve our environments by creating calmer spaces, offering more meaningful activities, and making good use of digital tools to support wellbeing.

People should feel supported to stay well once they leave our services.

We are strengthening how inpatient, community and social care teams work together across neighbourhoods. This will help further improve people’s experience of transitions in and out of services, their after care, and the provision of more joined‑up support.

We know that not everyone needs, or wants, hospital care.

We are offering more flexible alternatives such as Step Care, day programmes and digital support. This will give people more choice in treatment options and help them stay closer to home wherever possible.

People seeking help sometimes have a range of needs, including neurodiversity or other health conditions.

We are aiming to develop more inclusive, flexible care that adapts to individual needs and improves access to support.

We are also exploring new digital tools to help people engage with services more easily.
