In person services

Inpatient care

Inpatient treatment is typically recommended for adults with severe or complex eating disorders and who need a high level of care. This may be for psychiatric diagnoses such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa or binge eating disorder.

Care is provided in individual accommodation, with the emphasis on routine, boundaries and safety for patients and staff.

During an inpatient admission there is a focus on physical stabilisation e.g. weight restoration, and psychological recovery. Care plans are developed on an individual basis and may include nasogastric feeding where clinically appropriate.

The core, structured treatment programme includes group and individual therapies alongside 24-hour medical care and dietary support and advice.

Day admission services

Some patients will be able to participate in a day admission treatment programme to help support their recovery. This is a less intensive level of support and may be for one intensive day a week or 5-7 days, including three main meals and snacks.

Day admission enables a patient to remain at home with the responsibility for some weekday evening and weekend meals.

Whilst this care is provided as a day service, patients receive the same individual and group therapies and support as inpatients.
